At 249-57 S. 13th St. over the past couple of years, an old PPA garage has been demolished and the John C. Anderson Apartments have risen. This project, which we last checked on a little less than a year ago when exterior work was still ongoing, is marketed toward low-income LGBT seniors. Back in February, a ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official completion of the structure.

As you can see in the blurry picture above, a retail space on the first floor will soon be filled by Square One Coffee, out of Lancaster. Combined with the building it will inhabit, this will mark a huge upgrade over what was here before. We are looking forward to sampling their goods when they open in the coming weeks.
