Over a year ago, we brought 916 Green St. to your attention. This former venetian blind warehouse was, at the time, in the process of being purchased with the new owners going before the ZBA with plans for a residential conversion.

Last November

Over the past several months, interior and exterior demolition has been taking place here, eliminating many of the original details outside, ostensibly streamlining the building for future apartment units.

The somewhat confusing zoning application is to split the existing building into five separate homes, demolishing the two story rear of the existing building, and rebuilding it as a three story structure with car ports in the backs of the houses. Hard to see at this intermediate step, but we’ll check back in a couple of months to see if things begin to make any more sense.
