We love marketing geniuses and Peach Street Distillers’ TuB Gin’s plan to make five locations in Philly into a covert speakeasy tonight has earned our respect (but then immediately lost it with its trendy capitalization of the brand name). Today is the official anniversary of alcohol resuming it’s circulation into the United States and to celebrate, TuB Gin will be dolling out 25-cent drinks for those who whisper the secret password to the bartenders at Franklin Mortgage & Investment (5 – 6pm), The Grey Lodge, Prohibition Tap Room (9 -11pm), PYT and South Philly Taproom (6 – 10pm). No surprise about the Prohibition Tap Room, but we’re surprised the Blind Pig isn’t part of the festivities.
