On Sunday, November 6th, PAWS will host the 5th annual Mutt Strut in FDR Park at 1900 Pattison Ave. Participants in the event will walk a 1.5 mile route through beautiful FDR Park to raise money for and awareness of Philadelphia’s unwanted and abandoned animals. Participants will be required to pay a $25 registration fee, but will have access to a number of fun activities on what’s shaping up to be a beautiful Fall day.
Among the different doggie-related activities are an ask the vet booth, a dog obstacle course, a costume contest, bobbing for bones, grooming services from Suds & Swagger, and microchipping. If the dogs bring their people along, there will be goodies from La Colombe, The Dapper Dog, Pitruco Pizza, Pure Fare, Say Cheese, Jimmies, and Buttercream. Registration for the Strut starts at 9am, and the Strut itself begins at 11am.
Even if you don’t have a dog, Sunday is a wonderful day to check out FDR Park. With the Eagles playing on Monday night, the park will be free of tailgaters (and parking fees). And with the weather cooling down, we might not get another weekend day this nice until April.
