On a tip from a reader, we headed down to 15th and Passyunk to see what new building was going up, and luckily we caught a few people on their lunch break who looked like they knew what was going on (they had floorplans). After a hearty laugh from one upon telling him the name of the site, we were able to squeeze out some details. The owner of A J Appliance at 1600 W. Passyunk Avenue, Joseph Pinto, is moving A J to the corner of 15th and Passyunk Avenue and is making the the top floor a penthouse for himself with soaring ceilings and a roofdeck. We understand bosses wanting to stay on top of their business, but this brings that concept to a whole new level. —-Caitlin Connors
