Last week, we gave you a brief update that the affordable housing development in Norris Square, at the Saint Boniface site, was finally moving along, with foundations prepared for seven new homes. In that story, we also suggested that the ten home project on Susquehanna St. that we had previously covered was also progressing, considerably more quickly. Today, we have some photos of these homes, which are all replacing vacant lots, and have all been framed out.
Considering that private developers seem to have no interest whatsoever in this immediate area, these homes seem to be the only way that this area, which on some blocks resembled a wasteland previously, can improve. Hopefully, Norris Square Civic will find qualified buyers and these homes will soon be finished and fully occupied.
