A little less than two weeks ago, the ZBA granted a variance that will pave the way for twelve new homes to rise on the 1300 block of Chadwick Street. We first told you about this project, which has gone through several iterations after no less than seven community meetings and countless meetings with neighbors, back in August. With groundbreaking expected to take place rather soon, this block will soon see a giant plot of vacant land start to fill in with new homes.
Just because these homes are getting built doesn’t mean an end to vacant land on the 1300 block of Chadwick Street. First, the homes won’t be getting built on all the vacant land on the east side of the street. Some additional lots will remain. Also, the west side has a few vacant lots to speak of as well.
OCF Holdings is the developer for the east side of the block, and intends to develop three lots on the west side as well. 1308-12 S. Chadwick St. have been acquired, two from City agencies, one privately. Plans very similar to the homes across the street have been drawn up to build three homes on these lots that will look something like the rendering below:
To learn more about this project as well as several others being proposed in Point Breeze, we encourage you to attend tonight’s South Philadelphia H.O.M.E.S. meeting at 1444 Point Breeze Ave. at 6:30PM. We likewise recommend you get there early, seats will probably be in short supply.
