Community groups around town have all sorts of different strategies for raising money to improve their neighborhoods. Some charge dues. Others get significant grants. Still others rely on contributions from the local business community. The leadership of Newbold Neighbors, however, take a decidedly boozy approach to funding their activities.
Every fall, Newbold Neighbors hosts a neighborhood beer tour, serving libations in different neighbors' homes. This weekend, for the first time, they'll be doing something similar, but with wine. On the Newbold Neighbors Wine Tour, participants will move between four homes in the neighborhood, and each home will have a sampling of snacks and two varieties of wine. Proceeds from the event will go to Newbold Neighbors, and will fund their efforts to clean the neighborhood, improve public safety, and increase community outreach.
The tour will take place on Saturday May 10th, from 2pm until 6pm. Tickets to participate cost $35, and include all you can drink (until the wine runs out) and a wine glass for you to keep. You have to buy tickets in advance, since only participants will be clued into where the action is taking place. To purchase tickets, click here.
You don't need to ask us twice to drink wine on a lovely spring day. And hey, maybe you'll meet some of your neighbors in the process!
