Over the summer, we first told you about plans for the construction of twelve new homes on the 1300 block of Chadwick Street in Point Breeze. This string of lots, 1307-29 Chadwick St., has been vacant for many years, and the block as a whole, which sits between 16th & 17th, Wharton & Reed, is about two-thirds vacant. Clearly, this project will have a transformative effect on this block, which is currently used more by dog owners than residents.

In the past

Recently, a large hole appeared on the eastern side of the block. This marks the beginning of construction for the first four homes of the twelve home development, which was approved last month. The homes, designed by YCH Architects, will offer about 2,300 sqft of interior space, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms and will be listed for just under $370K. Respecting the mostly two-story nature of the block, the three-story homes will feature mansard roofs. OCF Holdings is the developer for the project.

New hole is in the ground

In a couple of weeks, another project on this block goes to the ZBA. As we told you a couple of months ago, three more homes are planned for 1308-12 Chadwick St., which are likewise vacant at this time. In a couple of years, this block will look totally different- we've already told you about fifteen homes coming to the block, and even more are on the way.
