When we last checked in on the 2000 block of Annin Street in Point Breeze, three homes were being framed out on the block, and two more were going up right on the other side of 20th Street. A month later, framing is finished on the three homes, and bricks have appeared on the two homes on 20th Street.

Last week on Annin

Last week on 20th St.

With the addition of the three newly framed homes as well as the six rental properties that were built back in 2011, the 2000 block of Annin Street has experienced tremendous change in the past couple of years. And it seems that more is on the way.

More homes to come

According to the handy L&I Map, it seems that more homes are planned for this block, at
2034, 2036, 2038, 2042 Annin St., which will fill in four more of the dwindling supply of vacant lots. According to the zoning application, the developers are intending to build single family homes with garages, which would represent the first garage-front homes on the block.

For anyone who remembers what this block looked like just a couple of years ago, all of this development activity is simply incredible to behold. Hopefully, the small handful of remaining vacant lots on this street will get filled in as well in the near future. We’ll be keeping a lookout…
