A mere few hours after we posted about SOAP last month, the store abruptly closed up shop on East Passyunk Ave due to “unforeseen circumstances.” SOAP-makers Nate and Denise Venier have, in the month that’s passed, returned to their roots in East Falls under their original name, East Falls Soap. Since the store’s closing, they have re-branded their website and are working on creating new products and building up their inventory. They are also searching for a new retail location; Nate tells us that they’d like to stay in East Falls, but it depends on many factors, including rent costs and the business climate. You know, the usual.
In the meantime, if you’re craving their delicious smelling concoctions (like new gin & tonic soap?), you can order via their website, check out their Facebook page, and keep in mind that they deliver in Philadelphia! We hope they come back as quickly as they went away, and find a place to permanently call home in Philly.
Meanwhile, their short-lived location on Passyunk Avenue remains vacant. Not for long, though, we suspect.
