When we last visited 1412 S. 7th St., developers had just presented plans to the Passyunk Square Civic Association to convert the blighted former auto shop into ten apartment units. According to the L&I Map, the project resulted in some give-and-take, and the developers eventually agreed to cut the number of units down to eight. Passing by the other day, we discovered that the project seems to be finished.
It's wonderful the see that the developers were able to transform this former blight back into something productive for the community. Given the property's odd shape, it's especially encouraging. Hopefully, others will take notice and will think to invest in this part of the neighborhood in the future.
