According to the zoning application, 214-216 N. 10th St. will soon be home to a new retail establishment. The application is for the sale of prepackaged food and preparation of hot food for takeout, so perhaps a small market or simple takeout place is on the way. We’re in Chinatown, so we’re gonna bet the house that an Asian cuisine will be represented here. This new spot would join a music school that is currently doing business in the same building, which also contains four apartments upstairs. Obviously, a new business opening up is great news for the local economy and will hopefully provide something new and worthwhile for the near-neighbors.

Comparing the building today with the image from Google, we can see that it’s come a long way in the past couple of years. Once the city finishes work on the sidewalks, things should look even better.
