We’ve produced a veritable deluge of words about the intersection of 19th & Poplar, clogging your minds with information about four large projects that surround the intersection. It should come as absolutely no surprise then, that more development is coming to the area, just a little farther north. Easy to notice while passing through is 923 N. 19th St., which was a a vacant lot until just recently.

Current view

Loonstyn Properties purchased the lot last year, and has already framed out a new four unit building on the site. As you may remember, these guys do plenty of work in the area- you can see more of their work on the left side of the images above. Note that in the photo from a couple of years ago, 927 N. 19th St. is a blighted, windowless building. Now, it’s a renovated rental apartment building with six units that no longer looks like it’s about to fall over. Big win for the block.

Moving across the street, we can show you an example of another formerly blighted building that’s been replaced at 1908 Cambridge St.

Sealed PHA home

New building in its place

Shiny bays

Last year, 19th Street Development LLC purchased the property from PHA. Now, they’re 98% finished with a two-condo building with shiny bay windows. At least one of the units is under agreement, if not both. Not only are these are the same guys who are building the condos on Swain Street that we mentioned last week, but we’re also pretty sure they’ll be building four buildings on the vacant land immediately adjacent to the home pictured above.

Vacant lot in question

We actually gave you the scoop on this possible project last summer, though it’s likely that it’s evolved since that time. We look forward to seeing these smaller projects get completed, and the larger one get started, in the months to come. As always, we’ll keep you updated when there’s something new to share.
