As we mentioned a few months back, Brewerytown Living, the brainchild of the folks at MM Partners, is an online community that helps spread awareness about and build community in the Brewerytown neighborhood. Their next event, the Connie Mack Classic Wiffle Ball Tournament, will take place tomorrow at 1pm at Atlantic Square, at 27th and Master Sts.
Sixteen teams of three will play in this tournament, competing for a $100 gift certificate to a neighborhood drinking establishment. From what we hear, a couple of spots are still open. If you’re interested in participating, click here to sign up. The cost is $15/person or $45/team. And you don’t even have to live in the neighborhood!
While the chance to get out and swing the ol’ yellow bat is certainly an enticing proposition, we’re just as enthused about the way that this event will bring neighbors together in Brewerytown. Building stronger communities is so important and events like this provide a perfect venue for it. What better way to get to know your neighbors than enjoy a late summer afternoon together, engaging in (something that sort of resembles) America’s pastime?
And wait, there’s gonna be food and beer too?
Count us in.
