Celebration Banquet Hall, located at 2709 Cecil B Moore Ave., has been closed for quite awhile but is apparently interested in reopening. The building, formerly a grocery store and before that a church, could definitely use some work, but the people at Celebration were not willing to go into any details as to how exactly they intend to improve the site.

With a lot of blight in the immediate area, a project to fix up this building would likely effect some positive change in the area. Although they dropped hints of reopening a few months ago on Philadelphia Speaks, and they did in fact confirm their plans to us last week, we don’t have any more information at this time. We’ll be anxious to see if they can turn the place around and provide a fresh gathering space for events in the community. They assured us they will be giving us more information when the time is right, so  stay tuned!
