The other day, we were out visiting a lovely triumvirate of new homes at 21st & Rodman and we barely made it half a block before a project at 2100 Lombard St. popped back onto our development radar. As you cans see, these projects sit basically on the same block, save for the narrow pair of Naudain St. and Tryon St. that run between these new additions to the area.

Formerly a surface parking lot in a prime location, we stopped here back in September 2020 when plans were in the works to add a couple of homes to the parcel. As the above image gives away, things are now complete, bringing a pair of homes from LO Design. And, as you can see, things are looking just slightly different than they did in the past.

While this may look like one structure, this is indeed two homes, and two large homes indeed. So large in fact, that they have their own website created by the Serhant team marketing the properties. Consisting of 2100 Lombard St. to the north and 502 S. 21st St. to the south, size and luxury are the name of the name of the game here. Ground level stone and wood doors are met with brick and touches of black paneling, creating a modern, geometric look. A curb cut along 21st St. remains for one of the two-car garages, with the other home’s garage accessed along the narrow Tryon St. to the south. Second level patios offer outdoor space in addition to the roof decks.

Unsurprisingly, the interiors continue the contemporary, high-end approach. Both homes include five bedrooms over the 4,500 sqft, with seven bathrooms and the prerequisite elevator. The homes are wide and open, with interiors that are bold in design, with huge slabs of marble leaving no doubt that a pretty penny was spent building these. While similar in finishes, the two homes offer a slightly different take on a similar theme.

As you might expect, these homes carry a price tag commensurate with the location, size and less-than-subtle finishes. 2100 Lombard is available now for $3.499 million, with 502 S. 21st adding almost a half-mill more, featuring a $3.95 million price tag. We were expecting $3 million-ish prices a few years back, so it’s no surprise that these are the starting points for these palatial new homesteads. And as the nearby Moderna homes (which sadly are in dire need of some love on their grid-like facade) show, new construction here is likely to go quickly. While the market at this price point isn’t huge, we’d imagine that these will surely catch the eye of some lucky – and well-heeled – buyers soon enough.
