It's been about a year and a half since our last visit to the intersection of Corinthian & Girard, across the street from Girard College. At that time, developers were just getting started on the construction of a bunch of apartments. Remember, this property was once the site of the Poor Clare's monastary, a very handsome building that had been vacant since 1977.
In late 2011, the owners of the property demolished the building, and had plans for for thirty apartments across two rows of dupexes with an entrance to a parking area on Girard Avenue. Also interesting, renderings from YCH Architects indicated that part of the demolished facade would be incorporated into the new project.
If you pass by this project today, you'll see that it's clearly a different end product than was previously reported. Rather than two rows of duplexes, there's one building with 34 apartments. Also, the parking aspect has been eliminated. And you will most significantly notice that the exterior doesn't look anything like the demolished monastary. We could not say what precipitated the changes.

So the exterior of the building may not match your expectations, the apartments inside look really nice. 2-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom units start at $1,450/mo, and there will be a few 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom units available as well. The units, together branded as Corinthian Court, have high-end finishes, washer-dryers, granite countertops, and all the other stuff you'd expect from a new construction rental.
