A reader checked in the other day and gave us the heads up about three projects worth visiting near Grays Ferry & Carpenter. So visit we did and here's what we found:
About two years ago, Metro Impact built the three-condo unit building pictured above on the corner. Recently, they started work on a rehab at 2551 Grays Ferry Ave., and turning it into another triplex. Unit A will be a bilevel unit with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and yard access. Units B & C will each have two bedrooms and one bathroom. Look for this building to be finished in a matter of months.
Finally, we go around the corner to the 2500 block of Carpenter Street and find some new foundations. This formerly vacant corner is basically adjacent to a collection of transformers that you can sort of make out in the background of the photo. Still, developer John McHugh is building a project designed by KJO Architecture that will include five units with parking. Check out what it will eventually look like:
It really is amazing just how much activity is taking place in this little section of the neighborhood these days. We'll be sure to check back and provide some updates in the coming months.
