Over the summer, we told you about plans for two new three story homes for the 2000 block of Titan Street. 2002 and 2004 Titan St. have been vacant lots for decades, and developers recently received zoning clearance for the construction of new homes which will replace these lots. Look for groundbreaking in the next couple of weeks.

Looking east on Titan Street

Next to those future homes is another vacant lot, on the southwest corner of 20th & Titan. This intersection has seen some redevelopment of late, as you can see a newer stuccoed building in the background of the photo above. And just last week, it took another step toward redevelopment as groundbreaking took place for another project.

As you can see, a hole has been dug and formwork is in place for a new foundation. Soon, a new single-family home will rise here, along with two more homes on Titan Street and the duplexes that were recently built on the corner of 20th & Wharton. As we together hurtle toward the new year, we remember what this block looked like just a year ago, and look forward to seeing what it will look like a year from now. We're guessing less vacant land, more renovation, and hopefully a few dozen more homes on the way around the corner on the 2000 block of Wharton Street.
