Traveling though Fishtown the other day, we stumbled upon three homes under construction at the corner of Gaul & E. Cumberland. These homes are replacing a vacant lot that's been on and off the market a couple of times over the years. Finally, Gaul Cumberland LLC purchased the three lots for $65K a piece about a year ago. Some construction violations appear to have cropped up a couple of months ago, but they're all cleared up and the homes are well on their way.

These new homes are in an interesting spot, to be sure. Right across the street is Greensgrow Farms, preeminent urban farm in Philadelphia. To put an extremely fine point on the urbanity of the location, the homes are also about a block away from Aramingo Ave., home to shopping centers galore. And an Applebee's! A block in another direction is Hagert Square, a large residential development we've told you about several times in the past. At this point, fifteen of the thirty homes in this development have been built, with foundations poured for the other half.

Hopefully, the three homes pictured above will be finished soon and sold quickly. We imagine they'll be priced in the mid-to high $300K range, though we're only speculating. We would also guess that Hagert Square is attracting a number of homebuyers to the area, and these three homes could represent an alternative for people who aren't into the look or feel of the larger development.
