The other day, we wondered whether a garage on 13th Street, just south of Washington Ave., might be getting rehabbed soon. We were bummed to discover that this seems unlikely. But we did spot something interesting when we snapped the photo of the garage in question.
The homes across the street were built between five and ten years ago, we imagine. Architecturally, they originally bore the unfortunate mark of much of the development that took place during that time- the dreaded stucco bay window. But three of the four have emerged from that dark place, covering their bays with different material that may not set the world on fire but certainly represents an improvement over what was there before. Looks like a good lesson for a couple hundred residents in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood, no?
