Last summer, we told you about plans for the construction of seven new town homes at 624 E. Flora St., a long vacant lot. Over the last several months, two of the seven have gone up, and they look like they’re just about finished.
As you can see, these homes, designed by the Ian Smith Design Group, have car ports instead of the much-more-common garage front. They also have second floor decks and roof-top decks, as suggested by the pilot houses that you see in the top photo. You can also see in the second photo that foundations have been poured for the home next door.
With these foundations poured, we don’t think it will be too long before the next several homes are under construction. Hopefully, this entire project will be a huge success, and the developers will next move onto their lots behind these, which front Girard Avenue. With all the new commercial and mixed-use development Girard has seen in recent years, it seems like that should only be a matter of time. And hey, we don’t imagine Kraftwork would complain about having a little company on this section of the corridor.
