In December, we told you about the demolition of the Sidney Hillman Medical Center, a modernist building next to a much smaller but still historic building originally designed by William Eyre. In the months since, construction has progressed at this site at 2116 Chestnut St., though there’s still plenty of work to be done.

When all is said and done, there will be ground floor retail on Chestnut St., a new space for the Hillman Medical Center, and a 34-story tower of 309 residential rentals. In case you don’t recall, design work was done by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture. Here’s a quick rendering, so you’re prepared for the finished product:
